inclined individual should be able to modify their own recorders to use these cards,how ever 3 head machines will need two cards to be able to monitor tape signal or use one card and monitor tape after rewind the play.I hope to be able to provide detailed instructions for this mod in a week or two . Any one interested in doing this mod please contact me through ebay mail .                                                                        In looking over comments on the net I have found that people don not know much about Dolby S noise reduction.If you can locate an Audio magazine from 1990(i don't remember which issue) Herman Burstein's Audio's tape editor reviewed Dolby S.From my memory S provides 24 db improvement in signal to noise ratio and unlike Dolby SR it also provide up to 10 db noise reduction in the low frequency range .Also it was designed to be more tolerant of tracking errors and in a good open reel system will give one a useable dynamic range of 110 db and in a great system  the range can be 115 or so at 15ips of course.  Thanks for looking
