not, even if you bought this cool four-track recorder you'd have an old school machine that's perfect for creating some interesting
recordings. Just think -- this unit gives you the same number of tracks the Beatles used when recording Sgt. Pepper.
I am not the original owner -- I bought it at a sale so I don't know who had it before me. Whoever it was never touched it. Although it's missing the manual (likely available online), the cord was still wrapped tight in plastic and packed in the styrofoam holder, and the machine itself was cloaked in a plastic bag and secured by the same styrofoam. I plugged it in to see if it works, and it lit up brightly. My assumption, then, is that it's never been used. It is in mint condition and spotless.
