This Jadeite piece comes from the Motagua River valley in Guatemala. This type of jade has been lab tested and proven to be genuine Jadeite by well known gemologists. This piece has been sliced on one side. This gives a clear view of the overall quality of the material. Pieces most likely to be fracture free can be easily identified while large fractures can be easily seen. This gives you a clear Idea of what you will likely run into as you cut into the jadeite. Color can vary from the outside to the inside of the stone and hidden pockets of higher quality jadeite can sometimes be hidden inside. Mined by the local people in the ancient manner as the Mayas did centuries ago. This item is being shipped direct from our lapidary workshop and warehouse in Mexico.
