    Description

Darling and Very Hard-to-Find Taylor Smith & Taylor 6” Plate featuring a Tiger Cat with a Blue Bow Cautiously Watching a Frog next to his Cream Bowl.   Backstamp dates 1908-15.
Though unsigned, the Artist was Dorothy Travers Pope, this exact Cat scene also being on Postcards – c. 1907.   One of two Cat Plates by this artist currently up for auction.
This wonderful Plate is in very good condition with just a couple tiny decal flakes missing on the Cat.  As one probably knows, these Plates are decorated with a Decal style application which tends to make their design durability somewhat fragile and subject to chipping vs overglazed ceramics. Could be touched, if desired, but views nicely as is.
Also, some very minor edge wear and one tiny 1/8” shallow chip on the very edge.  None of this being significant.
